Rebounding Ludus with Old Friends

We had a hard London 2012 financially.  In order to stay in business, we ended up ‘merging’ with a ticketing company out of Austin, Texas (Red Carpet Tickets). We had legal issues in Brazil this past summer, which led to more financial trouble.  I ended up leaving the company for a sabbatical shortly after (partly because the company couldn’t offer to support me; partly because I saw we were becoming more of a ticketing company than a tour company). My former partner, Brian Peters, bet everything last month on the Super Bowl market.  Unfortunately, he bet the wrong way and he was unable to deliver 400 tickets (headlines were all over the news).

As a result, Ludus has been shut down.  Mr. Peters has taken the ticketing side of the things and will rebrand. Raffaella Cinti and I have decided to take the Ludus brand and our contracts with Federations and other sponsors and create Funly Events.  We will manage group bookings only and work mostly on brokering hotels and tickets.  We will not do much in the way of FIT bookings.  We will be focused on the following events:

  • 2016/2018 Olympics
  • FIFA World Cup
  • Various USA based events
  • Festivals (Oktoberfest in Munich, Pamplona’s Running of the Bulls)
  • EURO Cup/Champions League

We have enjoyed working with all of the ISTAA members, and we have appreciated how the organization has stood behind us in this difficult time.  We hope to be able to continue our membership and continue improving relationships with everyone that we have built over the last 12 years.
